Design Approach
For this family home in Buffalo Grove, the goal was to enhance functionality and elevate style while respecting the existing layout and select furnishings. We embraced a Modern Classic aesthetic—balancing timeless structure with soft, inviting textures and updated finishes.
The living room transformation focused on strategic layering: introducing a warm green wall color, framing it with traditional molding, and centering the space with a new chandelier. We preserved the client’s existing sofa and wall art, then added cohesion through custom lighting, layered window treatments, curated accessories, and additional seating.
In the adjacent kitchen, we kept the original layout but reimagined the space through new cabinetry, updated hardware, and a soft white-on-white palette to add brightness and clarity. The design honors the home's architectural rhythm while offering a renewed sense of ease for everyday family life.
